Adrienne and Jeff | Glenbrook Meadows Sunset Engagement Session | San Harbor Lake Tahoe
As a wedding photographer, I meet many couples from all walks of life. This is the part of the process I love most about my job because building relationships is like a maze, they take time to navigate with some unexpected turns that lead you to doors you would otherwise not know.
Couples find me through different avenues like Google, Instagram, The Knot, Wedding Wire, Facebook, or Pinterest but regardless of how or where they initially come across my work I get extremely excited when they take the next level of contacting me. In this day and age most interactions are online, so I always jump at the chance to personally connect with my couples from the very get go because my goal is to really find out who the people are on the other side of the screen.
When I read on their inquiry that Adrienne and Jeff love vacations anywhere where there's a beach, I knew right away that they're my kind of people! I'm happiest in warm tropical places with my feet in the sand while the sound of the waves crashing take me in with no effort. They don't discriminate though because while they do love being surrounded by water and sand, they enjoy shredding snow just as much.
They are adventurous, but they also love snuggles and baking.
That's not all what intrigued me about these two though. At first, they were reticent about their personal affairs but I go by the words of Shrek "Maybe there's a reason, donkeys shouldn't talk." Oh no, sorry that's not the quote I was looking for!
I meant, "Ogres are like onions; we have layers." I fully believe humans are just like Ogres or onions (whichever you want to relate to.) But what I mean is we have layers too. And it's very important for me to peel back those layers to get to know the couple in front of me.
So as I peeled back the layers during our initial meeting, I was intrigued at how true they are to themselves, to each other, and to others. They are unapologetically who they are as people. They don't come off as a haughty but they are truly happy of who they are as individuals and as a couple which is very respectable in my book.
They are young with dreams of a beautiful life together. They are ambitious with those dreams, too! They recently closed on their brand new home with their fur baby Athena! This was all without sacrifice though because in the process they gave up the comfortability of being in a nice apartment and temporarily stayed in a smaller space for a few months. I'm sure there were many other sacrifices that they endured together but they wouldn't have it any other way.
Adrienne and Jeff,
Where do I even start? I have so much admiration for you two. You have a clear vision of what's ahead of you but it's evident that more importantly you're mindful of staying by each other's side through the journey. Your devotion to one another is something that most people search for their entire lives! I'm excited for what good blessings are ahead for you guys because good people like you deserve good things. It will never be perfect, but you bring the best out of each other.
And you know what, it's all you need.
Thank you for trusting me to be a small part of your story... 2022 can't come soon enough!
