We all know that this year has been very challenging. So imagine having the added bonus of planning a wedding in a pandemic!
This is the kind of reality that Chelby & Nick have had to face. They've been given a million reasons to cancel their wedding which, in fact, has already happened twice. Yep, you read that right: TWICE. And they're hoping that the third time's a charm because despite the challenges, they've been pushing through for their new wedding date next year... for good reason.
You see, in the short time I've known these two it's been apparent to me that they're incredibly selfless. Not only have they had to navigate uncharted territory for their wedding plans but as teachers they're also constantly doing their best to keep their heads above water for their students as well. Their outward expression of love and empathy is not surprising and this very reason is why they've held true to realizing their original wedding plans even they've had to start over time and time again.
They value community which means they value togetherness... which is more important now more than ever and it's *exactly* their goal for having a big wedding. Their family and friends are of the utmost importance to them and having everyone witness their matrimony is something they hold dearly in their hearts. And this reason surpasses all the obstacles that have been in the way. Nobody wants to feel disappointment or frustration when planning a wedding, but in this case, I think it's safe to say that it has only made the journey sweeter for Chelby & Nick.
With that said, if I were to pick a song that best describes planning their dream wedding it would be "Million Reasons" by Lady Gaga.
"I bow down to pray
I try to make the worst seem better
Lord, show me the way
To cut through all (this) worn out leather
I've got a hundred million reasons to walk away
But baby, I just need one good one to stay"
Chelby & Nick,
Thank you for driving up to Tahoe to meet with me! I know you've been through so much already this year. While it's been tough, your tenacity and the way you've handled it all is something you both should be proud of!
When we met, you've expressed that the day of your Engagement Session is the first day where you've felt like this is really happening. You guys deserve the best and I'm so glad having this time together outside of all the daily chaos has brought joy to the both of you as it did to me as well. We didn't stop laughing and it felt like we were the only ones at Sand Harbor... if we had this much fun in just an hour, I know your wedding day will be EPIC. I'm truly honored to serve you as you approach your *third* and (hopefully final) wedding date!
