I like watching feel good shows. Last night, my husband and I caught an episode of New Amsterdam and it was really good! I can never remember the days and times when shows are on to watch it again but if I do I definitely will. You know what else I like? I like meeting people. I enjoy chance encounters particularly the ones when I meet good-hearted people. People like Christine and Preston and their fun little one Emma.
We met at our community park and I am so thankful we did! Since we met, they've been so supportive of my family. They've opened up their house to us and have had me and my little Ella over for playdates. Christine even taught me how to sew! We've had such wonderful memories with their family in such a short time that my daughter would often ask to see her friend Emma, her auntie Christine and uncle Preston.
Christine and Preston are both born and raised in Hawaii. They are high school sweethearts! They met in Geometry class when Preston was a Junior and Christine a freshmen. She wasn't particularly interested at first but he grew on her (good job Pres!) They recently celebrated their 11th anniversary but these two have been together for 21 years, wow! Now that they are parents to little Emma, they are nicely settled in Reno and now call the Biggest Little City home.
Emma is such a happy-go-lucky little toddler! She has such a rainbow of personality and she can make your day in an instant with the biggest smile! She is already full of life and tomorrow she is celebrating her third birthday! Yay! What a milestone! I've had the pleasure of watching her journey of growing up this year and what an amazing little girl she has become. She is now talking like a big girl with full sentences and all. She is also working on potty training! She loves to share her snacks and loves spending time outdoors. She is now a lover of all things Disney after a weeklong trip to Disneyworld, thanks to her dad who is a big Disney fan!
Christine and Preston, you guys have been such a blessing to our family. Even though we've known each other for just a short time you've really extended your Aloha spirit to us. Your love and compassion for people comes naturally that it is easy for people like me to view you as family instead of friends. Being around your family has brought a lot of joy to our family! I'm pretty sure Ella really thinks you guys are her blood relatives! Thank you for always thinking of us. I am really appreciative of your kindness and thoughtfulness. Because of you, I now crave passion fruit pancakes and guava jam. Two things I have been missing out on my entire life! Emma is so lucky to call you her parents; her joyful personality emanates from the good hearted people that you both are. She, too, has the Aloha spirit!
I'm so glad we had the chance to be able to capture your family's happiness in celebration of your wedding anniversary and also for Emma's birthday. Hooray for three! Here's a quick look at the fun times we had at sunset the other day!
Happy anniversary you two! And the happiest of birthdays to little Emma!
